The cross-country skiing area at Štrbské Pleso with the referee tower and grandstands was built before the FIS World Championships in classic skiing, in 1970. The cross-country stadium is 240 m long and 35 m wide, and currently has lighting for night skiing. From it, 5 homologated FIS professional cross-country trails lead to the Furkotská and Mlynická valleys to organize international races.
