Dražov Church is the oldest Romanesque church in Slovakia. It was once the property of the Zobor monastery. This ancient sacral building is extraordinarily beautiful for its simple shape, but also for the surrounding magical atmosphere that prevails here.
The church * stands high on one of the foothills of the Tríbeč Mountains. In good weather you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding vast fields, the city of Nitra, or small villages in the districts. It is also very visible from Nitra Castle.
The Dražov Church is closed throughout the year, with the exception of pre-announced visits, unique weddings and mass, which is held here once a year, on September 29, when the name Michal is celebrated.
The town part of Dražovce is also an important archeological locality with a Slavic settlement and a burial ground from the times of Great Moravia.
You can easily get here by public transport from Nitra and by car. Subsequently, only a slight climb along the path to a smaller green meadow awaits you. This location is also a popular resting place for tourists who went to the top of Zobor.
