Sv. Vendelín- He was allegedly born the son of a King of Scotland, who was raised by the archbishop. At the age of twenty, he left as an anonymous pilgrim on a pilgrimage to Rome. On the way back, he worked as a shepherd of sheep, and after miraculous deeds, the nobleman he worked for built him a hermitage so that he could devote himself undisturbed to prayer and contemplation. He later became abbot of the Saar Benedictine monastery in Tholey around 597. He died in 617 in his cell in the monastery where he was abbot.
