Lake Izra is located in the valley of the Slaný hills. It was formed after a landslide that dammed a stream. The surroundings of the lake are formed by forests and are visually very attractive. According to historians, the name Izra originated from the Hungarianization of the Slavic word lake to "jozra". So its name simply means "lake".

The lake offers a suitable place for a day trip. There is no possibility of swimming or you can take a boat ride. The location also offers snacks at a local restaurant.
The easiest access to the lake is from the village of Slanská Huta following the green sign from where it is about 3 km and there is also a marked bike path and asphalt road, which can be reached by car.
