Difficulty and length of the route
We would call the Hrhov waterfall a car trip. Not to mention that less than 300 meters from the village center is this beautiful natural monument. The fact that it is almost in the center of the village does not detract from its attractiveness, on the contrary. We recommend this trip to all collectors of beautiful places who do not want to walk far.
Route information
Between Rožňava and Moldava nad Bodvou is the village Hrhov. If you go this way, you will notice Hrhovské ponds, which are striking in their eyes. And it is in this village that there is a beautiful and hidden gem - Hrhovský waterfall. A yellow hiking trail leads from the village center, which will take you to a beautifully built wooden gate in a few minutes. From there, it is only a few steps along a paved path directly to the waterfall.
Interesting facts
Hrhovsky waterfall is one of the easier trips in the Slovak Karst. It is fed by the Féj spring and flows almost in the middle of the village. This 15-meter waterfall is not just such a waterfall, it is one of the largest and largest waterfalls in the Slovak Karst. In good rains, the water reaches a speed of up to a thousand liters per second. A beautiful paved route with benches is built around the waterfall. The whole area around the Hrhovské waterfall looks like a fairy tale and be sure to include the stop here in the list of the nearest trips.
As an interesting fact, we will mention that the Hrhovský waterfall together with the Lúčanský waterfall belong to the only two Slovak waterfalls, which are located directly in the villages.
