The mini-open-air museum was established with the aim of preserving and presenting the common heritage of the Slovak-Ukrainian border region - wooden temples, of which more than 40 have been preserved in eastern Slovakia to this day.
The mini-open-air museum is situated in the area of the Basilica Minor on a nicely landscaped area with sidewalks and information boards, which provide a brief history of each church.
In one place you have the opportunity to admire more than 40 gems of folk and spiritual architecture, which are exact replicas of their originals. In the mini-open-air museum you will find miniatures of temples from the villages of Frička, Krivé, Zboj, Hrabová Roztoka and Ruský Potok. In addition, miniatures of selected wooden temples of the Polish and Ukrainian border areas are also installed here. Wooden churches are made in a scale of 1:10.
In addition to the mini-museum, one of the dominants of Ľutina is a new wooden church with a lookout tower, from which there is a beautiful view of the surroundings. This temple is a faithful copy of the original burnt temple. The village of Ľutina itself is a well-known place of pilgrimage.
