John the Baptist was the son of Elizabeth and the priest Zechariah. He preached repentance. He lived like an ascetic in the desert. At Jordan, he announced the arrival of the expected Messiah by the Jews. Preparing the people for his arrival, he practiced the baptism of repentance with water as a symbol of salvation on the day of the coming judgment.
The wooden church in Klana Roztoky was built in a log house style. The temple consists of a shrine, a nave and a vestibule. The vestibule has a tower with a dome and a three-armed cross. The sanctuary has a three-armed cross on its roof. The temple tower and the temple roof are covered with wooden shingles. This temple is unique in that its wooden walls are plastered on the outside and inside with lime in an effort to protect the temple from inclement weather. The entrance to the temple is from the western part to the vestibule.
The church in the village of Kalná Roztoka has a special iconic wall with three doors, which stands between the nave and the shrine. This iconostasis dates from the 17th century. It has five rows of icons. Holiday icons date back to the 18th century. In the main line of the iconostasis are the following icons: St. Nicholas of Myra, St. The Mother of God Hodegetria (signpost), Christ the Teacher and Master, St. John Baptist. The imperial door consists of two wings depicting the four evangelists and the feast of the Annunciation to our Blessed Virgin Mary, always the Virgin. On the lining of the imperial door is shown on the left St. Basil the Great and on the right St. Ján Zlatoústy.
