In the Middle Ages, there was a pranier in almost every manor house. In Senec, it was built on the square in 1552 by the landowner Andrej Batori. When the pranieri exposed the perpetrators to "public disgrace," they punished them in public by flogging. A written record has been preserved that in 1609 a certain wizard was exposed to public disgrace at a pranier, who cursed the onion crop in Senec. Pranier served in 1848, when serfdom was abolished.
