The area of Káčer's Majer is located northwest of the historic core, right by the river Trnávka, on its left bank on a large plot delimited on the south by Kalvária and on the north by Cukrova Street. In front of the area on the east side is a training ground for dogs, along which the road leads to the former city brewery, known as Sessler's Malthouse.
To this day, three historic buildings of the area have been preserved: a residential representative building, an administrative house and a school. Since 2003, they have been declared a national cultural monument. Only after the army left did the chance to finally get to know the monumental values of the previously strictly guarded interiors, especially the representative building, which had ideal conditions to become the new seat of the regional monument office.
In 2011, after several years of efforts, the monumental renovation of the main building of the complex, to which the Trnava Regional Monuments Office moved, was completed. Thanks to the new use, the public also got a chance to get to know this monument, before which the area with rare monument values had been strictly guarded for a whole century.
