The chapel was built in May 1999 according to the idea and design of the parish priest Jozef Ondruš in honor of the end of the 20th century and the 2nd millennium. A statue of the Divine Heart of Jesus was placed in the chapel, repaired by another parish priest, Miloš Hačo. The statue was placed in the building of the old rectory until it was placed in the chapel.

On the occasion of the consecration of the chapel, commemorative pictures were issued with the text: “The restored statue of the Divine Heart found its new stand thanks to the selfless and good hearts of the Bukov believers. May our entry into the third millennium be under the constant protection of our dear Lord Jesus. Divine Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Beech 1999/2000 "
