Rudolf FABRY was born on February 8, 1915 in Budmerice. After graduating from grammar school in Trnava (1933), he studied drawing and geography at the Czech Technical University in Prague from 1933 to 1937. After graduating from university, he returned to Slovakia and settled permanently in Bratislava. He worked in Bratislava as a clerk for several years. From 1947 he began to pursue a journalistic profession, working in several periodicals - in the daily Práca, in the weekly magazines Nedeľa, Život, Film a divadlo, Kultúrny život. In the period 1960 - 1965 he was a freelance writer, then he worked for two years at the Slovak Headquarters of Book Culture and returned to journalism, as the editor-in-chief of the weekly Expres (1969 - 1971). He was a freelance writer for two years and finally completed his journalistic career in the periodical Výtvarný život, where he worked as editor-in-chief from 1973 until his retirement in 1975. He died in Bratislava on 11 February 1982.
