Platanový háj is a jewel of the castle park, built at the end of the 18th century. Several dozen plane trees grow on an area of approximately six hectares, the oldest of which is more than 200 years old. One of them, the 210-year-old maple, is the largest tree in the district, measures 40 meters and has a trunk circumference of 550 cm.
The grove was created during the reconstruction of the park, when the owner, the Minister of State at the court of Emperor Francis II, Count Jozef Erdődy, rebuilt the local seat, including the park with an area of about 16 hectares. He was inspired by the appearance of English parks. The sycamore grove is located in a lowland floodplain, rich in groundwater.
