The park area from the 19th century is of great environmental importance in the village located in the agricultural landscape. It has considerable microclimate, dendrological, biological and historical value. It forms a recreational background for the village and nearby retirement homes. The area of the protected area is 19,050 m2. The park was declared a Protected Area in 1983 in the 4th degree of protection. It is managed by the Dunajské luhy Protected Landscape Area.

Today, the Košút Park Protected Area consists of two parks. Košútky park is behind the Municipal Office and the park by the playground.
