In 1831, cholera spread throughout Slovakia. According to the book "A cholera Nyitra megyében 1831 - tol 1874 - ig" 30 people died in Hradiště that year.
In 1866, the Prussian-Austrian war broke out, which the poorly armed Austrian army lost and retreated from northern Bohemia to our region. On July 22, they signed peace in Bratislava and on July 30, the Prussian army left us! However, it brought cholera to us, which began to die in August. According to the book "A cholera Nyitra megyében" on Brezová, 274 people died of it. It certainly affected Hradiště, but the number of victims is not mentioned there.
The sculpture of the Virgin Mary of the Seven Sorrows, made in 1860 by Štefan Michalička, is beautiful, very well-preserved and especially popular with believers. The statue once stood at a crossroads at the turn to Brezová pod Bradlom. The place is known in the village as "Na Zvonárkinom". Because the municipal office building stands on this site today, the statue was transferred to the park area in front of Mr. Králik's house.
