Ján Michalička, a native of Hradiště pod Vrátnom, studied philosophy and theology in Rome, where he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1943. His long-term work was Žilina, where he is also buried. By the decision of Pope John Paul II. was appointed in 1990 an honorary papal chaplain authorized to use the title of monsignore.
The village of Hradište pod Vrátnom and the local parish organized a memorial day on September 2, 2007 on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of J. Michalička's death. In addition to the exhibition of photographs from the life of the priest Michalička, a holy mass was held in the church, which was celebrated by Bishop František Rábek, and at the end of the consecration he dedicated a memorial plaque dedicated to J. Michaliček. The plaque was later placed on the building of the local rectory.
