Description of the monument
The column with the statue, facing the northeast, is set in a concrete podium with a rectangular floor plan. The base of the column has the shape of a block oriented vertically and finished with a profiled, horizontally extended cornice. The front side of the pedestal shaft is divided by a rectangular mirror with concave cut corners. In the area of the mirror there is an engraved eight-line Latin inscription, which informs about the origin of the statue, its consecration and donors.
VIRGINIET MA TRI OB DOLORES UNI GENITI DO LOROSAE DICA RVNTIOSEPH
VS ET MARTINVS SKODA ANNO 1756
(Translation: Our Lady and the Sorrows for the wrongs of all mankind were consecrated by Jozef Martin Škoda in 1756.) The pedestal bears a pillar composed of a heel, a stem and a head. The round heel, placed on a square plinth, consists of a groove between a pair of arches. The transition of the heel to the shaft is formed by a strip.
The smooth stem of the circular cross-section with entase is terminated by the Tuscan head, which consists of a spasm (so-called epitrachelium, composed of two arches with a strip and a groove between them), echinus and abacus.
