Its current appearance dates back to 1748, when Count Juraj Erdődi, a landowner in Głogów, and his wife Terézia Esterházi had the ancient karner rebuilt into a Baroque chapel. Count Erdődi was a great admirer of St. He tried to expand Anna and his respect for the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1776, (already after the death of Count Erdődi) the Congregation of St. Anny, the first lay church association in Hlohovec, while the chapel became its main spiritual stand for several decades.
