The beginnings of the parish church of St. George date back to the last third of the 13th century. This period is connected with important personalities that we call the counts from Sv. Jura and Pezinka. The parish church became the dominant feature of the town and was separated from the surrounding area by its own wall. During the 14th century, an emporium with a staircase was added to the western wall of the church. Later, the main nave was vaulted and the church was expanded with a lateral north nave.

In the 15th century - during the late Gothic period, the chapel of St. Trinity. The chapel originally had a gallery, but it was torn down in 1943. Since the 16th century, the main altar has been a part of the church - St. George. No major construction modifications were made in the 18th century. A rococo pulpit with a canopy was added on the east side of the main nave. In the Baroque period, a small chapel was added in the northern nave - the so-called the cave of the Virgin Mary with her statue. More significant construction interventions took place only in the 20th century after the Second World War. The Renaissance arches of the southern vestibule were bricked up. A new saddle portal with a tympanum was created in the south of the main nave, and in 1946 a Gothic style open vestibule was added to it. Painted glass was inserted into all the windows, the roof of the entire church and the floor. The last large restaurant inside the church ended in 2010.

The most precious artistic monument is the Altar of St. George. It is made of white sandstone from 1527 from the workshop of Štefan Pilgram, who combined figural motifs with plant motifs. The altar represents the transition from the Gothic style to the Renaissance. It was restored in 1992. The altar is located in the presbytery on the east side. It consists of a pedestal, a partition, a three-part cabinet-type altarpiece and an extension. It depicts the life of St. George. In the central field, he is depicted as a rider in armor slaying a dragon with a sword.

Other rare monuments in the church of St. George are the side altar of St. Bartholomew, pulpit, epitaph of Jakub Mordax and Krištof Gardani, tombstone of Count Juraj from St. Jura and Pezinka, a relief of the death of the Virgin Mary, a stone box with a relief of the prostration of the three kings. On the eastern wall of the side nave is a painting depicting the bishop of St. Erasmus.
