In 1464, a late Gothic church was built in Veľké Kostoľany. From this building, a sanctuary with a Gothic cross vault and bricked-up Gothic windows, a stone pastoforium and a stone saddle portal to the sacristy have been preserved to this day. According to the canonical visitation from 1560, the church was completely destroyed. After the passing of the Turkish danger and stabilization of the political and social situation, the renovation of the church began in 1693. In doing so, they kept the Gothic sanctuary and built a new church nave. In 1736 additions.
