We start the route in Kysucky Nové Mesto at the railway station. We follow the green sign and pass through Vajanského Street, past the House of Culture and over the bridge to the main Čadec - Žilina road. We cross the road and enter the village of Radoľa. The green sign turns right (in this part of Radole, we can also find a Renaissance mansion from the 16th century, which currently houses the Kysucké Museum exhibition. We continue along the asphalt road through the village to its southeastern end, where we are already walking along an unpaved road through the fields. Vreteň rises proudly in front of us and seems very inaccessible. However, we soon enter its spruce-beech bowels and take the first height meters full steam ahead. The ascent is quite steep and the path turns into serpentines in the final part. Just below Ostrý Hrebeň Vretňa we come to the cross with benches. From here on the ridge, it's only a short distance to the top of Vretň. We'll write in the summit book and drink the taste of victory over the humility of this Kysucké great by running back to Radole along the same route. We won't enjoy many views along the route, maybe only views of Radoła, Kysucké Nové Mesto and the surrounding area. From the cross below the top of Vretň, in good weather, there is a wider view of Kysuce. The route mostly leads through a beech forest, it is also suitable for hiking families and recreational tourists. Ascent on skis or by bicycle is impossible due to the steep climb and due to nature protection (Vreteň is a state nature reserve).
