The total length of the cave after its discovery was 170 m, its depth from the entrance to the lowest point of the Hač gallery -56 m. In 2001, the length was 548 m and the depth -73 m. After overcoming the collapse at the end of the corridor "Sodom Gomora" by Miloš Hač, an opening appeared in the ceiling of the corridor. For the sake of security, Miloš Hačo invited Braňa Šmída to the next survey. In September 2004, in the cooperation of Šmída, Hačo, Majerčák, a part of the buried and sinter-filled channel was overcome, and after overcoming a narrow meander, new spaces were discovered, quite significantly damaged by landslides, which is evidence of seismic movements in the past. After focusing all the new parts, the length of the cave increased to 660 m, the depth remained unchanged -73 m. Since September 2004, there have been no new discoveries, because speleologists' activities have moved to other caves.
Hačova jaskyňa ranks third among the Plavecký karst caves in size, after Plavecká jaskyňa and the Roštún abyss.
