The fortified church, which was built at the beginning of the 13th century, was once part of the estate of Matúš Čák Trenčianske. Over the years, it was modified first in Gothic style and then in Renaissance style. In 1810, the church forbade mass to be held in it due to its poor technical condition, and since then the church has been falling into disrepair. In addition to the conch, two windows of the apse, the walled southern entrance to the nave and a statue of the Madonna from the end of the 15th century, which is now kept in the parish church in Beckov, have been preserved from the Romanesque period.
