We try to present this enthusiasm to citizens not only in Slovakia but also abroad. Our priority is to connect man with culture, nature and domestic traditions, which are slowly but surely being forgotten in today's fast-paced times. The activities of the association are exclusively non-profit and serve to implement and coordinate a strategy aimed at social, cultural and societal enhancement of the Žitný ostrov region and its surroundings. At the same time, we provide space for the support and development of sports youth, we organize events to support cultural traditions and customs, such as the Festival of European Friendship, which is a presentation of folk singing, dancing and customs from the picturesque surroundings of the Danube. Other regular events organized by the Association include the Vladimír Gális Memorial, a canoeing race in honor of the late racer Dukla Trenčín and the very popular children's summer camp Kormoránik, in which dozens of children take turns every week. We expect that our active participation in the expansion of the region and the connection of its activities with foreign countries will increase the efficiency of the use of natural and cultural resources, social capital and potential of the region and deepen cross-border cooperation in the field of tourism.
