From the end of the 19th century. The aristocratic manor house situated in a row of street buildings on the border of Námestie slobody and Beňovského street began to be called the birthplace of Móric Beňovský.

In the years 1995-1998, the building underwent reconstruction. The city handed over the building for use for cultural purposes - the city library, historical exposition. The spacious attic was converted into an attic ballroom. Architecturally, the courtyard, currently used for organizing cultural and social events, was completed.
