From the point of view of nature protection, the most important area in the village is Trnavské rybníky. The Trnavské rybníky protected area consists of a system of ponds built in the cadastral areas of Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou and Trnava. They consist of four larger and three smaller ponds with an area of 0.61 km2 and a total storage volume of 517 thousand. m3. They are used mainly for fishing purposes, then for recreation (there is a swimming pool in the area of one of them) and in the rest there is a secondary succession, in which the coastal areas are overgrown with the original tree species and their development is directed towards floodplain forest. They represent an important type of aquatic and swamp habitat, which has a significant impact on the composition of the biocenosis, especially the birds of this region.

The first mention of ponds in this locality dates back to 1528. Construction of today's ponds began in 1951 and the entire pond system was completed in 1955 - 1956. In 1974 it was declared a Protected Study Area Trnava ponds to protect aquatic biocenoses and water birds. It has a total area of 38.42 hectares and a 23.18 hectare protection zone. In 1994, the protected study area was recategorized into the Protected Area of Trnavské rybníky with a fourth degree of protection.

From the ornithological point of view, Trnavské rybníky belongs to the unique wetland habitats of supraregional importance.
