In Slovakia, near the village of Kostolná pri Dunaji, there has been a protected place for the Ussuri-Siberian tiger for several years. Our foundation for these beautiful animals has built an exhibition with a more humane idea of the "heart of nature". This means that we have created for them an imitation of their natural environment together with plants, water, lying wooden stumps and raised perches, which serve the young and also the adult tigers for their natural play. In order for these animals to stay healthy and reproduce, we must take their instincts into account and make sure that they are "happy". These tigers live in solitude and their area is surrounded by forest and fields. They move freely in the so-called tiger gardens. A daily ration of meat and vitamin supplements guarantees healthy development. Tigers are not stressed and do not suffer from boredom or other neurotic or mental stress. They are surrounded by the love shown to them by their caregivers and do not know boredom or psychological pain. We take care of their nutrition, health and especially the space in which they move.
This space is very important, especially from the point of view of the mental health of these animals. The area in which the tigers move has an area of half a hectare. The animals in it have direct contact with the soil, tall wild grass, dense shrubs and trees. They have built night quarters under the open sky and under shelters. The tiger itself has the opportunity to choose according to the weather, where it will spend time at night. During the summer months and especially during the tropical heat, the animals have the opportunity to cool off in the artificial pool. Water circulation is ensured in it, so that clean and hygienically safe water can be kept regularly or as needed practically throughout the day. A solid solid structure 4.5 m high borders the tiger territory and is painted a soft green color, which blends perfectly with the surrounding nature.
