Cross at the end of Hlavná street - Pavlice

A cross with the crucified Christ, a skull, a weeping figure of the Virgin Mary. Originally built at the end of Main Street, moved to the side of the road when the village was expanded, it was built in 1757 and in 1968 it was reconstructed.

The statue consists of a minimalist block-shaped pedestal, containing only a limestone table. Attention is therefore focused on the sculpture itself. Under the cross we can see the figure of the weeping Mary Magdalene, with her attribute skull. The statue of the cross itself, atypically low but specifically beautiful, is no less elaborate with the crucified Christ. Above the figure of Jesus Christ is an imitation of a nailed plate with the inscription INRI, which is an abbreviation for the Latin name Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, ie Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.
