Cífer Reservoir is a carp fishing ground of the Slovak Fishermen's Association - Municipal Organization in Trnava (district 2-4600-1-1). In addition to carp, there are mainly tench, pike, trout, but also toothfish, catfish, grass carp, flatfish, etc.
At the end of March 1966, the workers of the Melioration Cooperative in Trnava began to build a pond on the southern edge of Cífer, which was primarily to serve the local unified peasant cooperative for irrigating the land. The approximately two-hectare pond was completed in 1967. The value of the building at that time was CZK 567,465. In 1974 it was used by MsO SRZ Trnava.
The Cífer Reservoir was first restored in 1975 and on Sunday, June 13, 1976, the first fishing races took place here.
As part of Action Z, the fishermen of Cífer built the House of Fishermen with the help of MsO SRZ Trnava in 1984 (construction value more than CZK 400,000). There is a clubhouse and a kitchen in the building. A year later, the fishermen continued to renovate the surroundings of the Fishermen's House and the water reservoir.
Local fishermen take care of the area around the reservoir. In recent years, they have expanded the Fishermen's House (or guard house) with an outdoor shelter with seating, regularly cleaning and treating the area around the reservoir, where in 2019 a playground was added and in 2020 several woodcarvings.
