This structure serves as a place for commemorations, ceremonies and celebrations that emphasize the importance of peace and the price of freedom. Overall, the Cross and the memorial to those who died in the World War are places of remembrance and honoring of the victims of wars. They serve as symbols of unity, faith and memories of those who gave their lives in the service of their country. These historical monuments remind us that peace and freedom are values worth protecting and honoring.
The cross is located in front of the church of St. Therese of Lisieux.
The cross has the inscription: "In memory of the end of the war and the soldiers who died in the World War, the village of Farkašín restored and rebuilt the cross in 1946".
In 2018, the village commemorated the 100th anniversary of the end of the First St. wars. On the said anniversary, the village reconstructed the cross and added a plaque with the inscription: In memory of the citizens and natives of Farkašín, who fought and gave their lives in the First World War.
