The Iron Cross under the Old Mountains was built by Jozef Krchnák in 1889. However, the cross is known as the Melitka Cross. Jozef Krchnák (1821-1901) from the Krchnák family was the brother of the canon Leonard Krchnák. He probably had the cross made under his vineyard. His granddaughter Júlia married Melichar Lechovič in 1905, whom Melitko called. Vinohrady was later inherited, so Melitkov has been called the cross ever since. The cross originally stood on the opposite side of the road. It was relocated during the collectivization in the 1950s
