During the crossing of the front line of World War II, a tragedy happened. On April 4, 1945, about more than a dozen young men from the village watched the retreat of German soldiers from the hill. They noticed them and may have considered them enemies because they shot the hill and killed three young men. Two died on the spot and another was injured the next day. The victims were Vilmuš Citera (* 1927), Anton Monsberger (* 1924) and Vojtech Hutár (* 1927). The names of the first two are also recorded on the memorial plaque to the victims of the crossing line at the monument to the fallen. However, they have an otherwise recorded age there; Monsberger 17 years old and Citera 19 years old.
