It springs in the Little Carpathians below Baďurka (547, 4 m) at an altitude of about 470 m above sea level. Mačianske dumps (unique sand dunes of the Danube plain) and near the village of Malá Mača connect with the waters of (Dolný) Dudváh. It flows mainly in a south-easterly direction, first around the recreational settlement of Biela skala, where it feeds a small reservoir of the same name and then flows through the Kobylská valley. Gidra, also known as Pleva or Pajdla, is a right-hand tributary of Dolní Dudváh. It is 38.5 km long
