In 2008, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List with 7 other wooden churches of the Carpathian Arch. Directly in the village of Leštiny there is a national cultural monument - an articular wooden church dating from 1688-9. The church was built by Jób Zmeškal, who was the captain of the castle guard at Orava Castle, but also the first "scepter" in Dolný Kubín.

The interior of the church is decorated with a baroque altar with polychrome wood carving from the beginning of the 14th century, painting of yellow-white flowers on a blue base on a railing from 1821, richly decorated Renaissance pulpit from the beginning of the 18th century, a copy of the funeral palace in 1753. The patronage benches in which the wealthy lords of the area sat were also interesting. In the church fight baptized one of the greatest Slovak poets - Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav.
