Srňacie is a part of Dolný Kubín, originally an independent small Orava mountain village, located about 5 km east of the city center in the Orava Highlands. It was already known at the end of the 14th century. It was the lord of the Zmeškalov family, then the Okoličán family. Until 1949 (other sources state 1971) it was an independent municipality. A well-known monument in the village is the wooden bell tower. The bell in it dates from 1799.
