The fraternal unity of Baptists arose in Slovakia before the First World War. Already in the period between the two world wars, there were actually two units in Slovakia - Slovak and Czechoslovak. Since the establishment of the federation in 1968, there have been three units in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. Even a year after the division of Czechoslovakia, there was a common BJB of Czechs and Slovaks. The BJB is a looser union of separate churches.
