The aristocratic palace from the beginning of the 19th century - an example of the Empire style in Košice. The tympanum is associated with the coat of arms of the Pongrácov and Forgáčov families. The Forgáč Palace very soon ceased to fulfill its role for which it was built. After the defeat of the Hungarian Revolution, Count Anton Forgáč became the head of the imperial civil administration in Košice (1851) and also served in the palace. He then offered the palace to Baron Kristián Kocov, vice-president of the governor's department in Košice (from May 1853).
