The interior of the church is decorated with wall paintings of late Romanesque style. However, you can also find influences of other stylistic styles, especially Gothic and Baroque. During archaeological research, a small stone foundation of the pulpit and 15 skeletal graves were found in the interior of the church.

The church is surrounded by a stone wall with an entrance gate and a circular bastion. It is a national cultural monument. The medieval church of St. Štefan Kráľ can be visited during services. In addition to services, it is necessary to arrange a visit in advance at the parish office, Žilina Parish - City.
