The town of Spišské Podhradie is extremely rich in cultural and historical monuments, which are concentrated on Palešov Square and Mariánské Square. It has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List since 1993. The central building is the Roman Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. It was built after 1258. After a fire in 1794, it was rebuilt. In the center of the square there is also the Town Hall and the Marian Column, which was built in 1726.
