The manor house in Orlov, in the town part of Považská Bystrica, was built in 1612 by the Hungarian nobleman Žigmund Balassa. At present, the Hotel Gino Park Palace **** is located here. Originally, it was a Renaissance one-storey mansion, which was supposed to be a promise of new modern and comfortable housing for the aristocratic Ballas family, which the cold and inhospitable Považský Castle could no longer provide. During this period, it was quite common for the nobility to leave the castles - stone impregnable fortresses, whose defensive function lost its significance and built modern and comfortable family residences in the countryside and in the city.
