The exposition of the Museum of Aviation and Aviation Technology is conceived in historical stages: ° Exposition of the beginnings of aviation until 1945 ° Exposition from 1945 ° Exposition of instrumentation ° Gallery of presidential aircraft ° Road transport

The development of aviation and aviation technology from the beginning to 1943 is documented by the first Aviation Museum in Slovakia, which was opened to the public on August 24, 2002 in the area of the airport in Košice.

The location of the Aviation Museum in Košice was decided by several factors. Since 1924, Košice has had the second airport in Slovakia and formed the most important air hub in the east of the then Czechoslovak Republic. The Slovak Technical Museum is also headquartered here, and its museum potential guarantees its success. The High Military Aviation School was founded in Košice in the 1950s, later the Military Aviation Academy gen. MR Štefánik, which significantly contributed to the development of aviation in Slovakia. The branch of the Slovak National Aeroclub is also based here. In addition, Košice is connected with the history of aviation through many demonstrations of flying and aircraft technology, here took place one of the first balloon flights in Slovakia. Before 1918, they held important lectures and promotional events on aviation from the mountain point of view. In the Slovak Technical Museum, older aviation technology was concentrated, consisting mainly of a rare collection of aircraft engines, measuring, navigation and other instruments used in aircraft. The Aviation Museum was opened to the public for the first time on August 23, 2002, the 2nd stage was ceremoniously opened on October 3, 2003.

In the interior and exterior of the exhibition there are more than 30 historical machines and devices, aircraft engines, measuring, navigation and other devices used in aircraft. A special and most interesting group consists of collections of original aircraft. These are mainly military aircraft type MIG-15, MIG-21, helicopters, fighter bomber SU-22, ambush fighter SU-15 TM (donated by Ukrainian President Kuchma June 14, 2001), agricultural Z-37 A "Bumblebee", glider VT 116 Orlík, ultralight Mitchel B-10, in a total of 18 original aircraft. The exhibition houses 24 historic aircraft engines, from 1915/16 to the latest R 13 F 2 S-300 aircraft jet engines. The exhibition is complemented by aircraft models, models of historic aircraft, in the number of about 50 pieces.
