The ruins of a castle on the wooded ridge of the Humenské vrchy belonging to the Vihorlatské vrchy, about 1 km from the village of Jasenov. The castle dates from the 13th century, was built after the invasion of the Tatars, and the most famous part of the history of this castle dates from the 16th century, when the castle was infamously famous for minting counterfeit coins. The castle served as a residence for the nobleman Peter's son Petena and his family at the beginning of the 14th century, provably to the Druget family from the 1920s to the 17th century.

Later in the 17th century, the castle was occupied by the troops of Juraj Rákóczi and severely damaged it. In the 18th century, the Čáki family became the owners of the castle, and in the 19th century, the castle belonged to the Andráš family. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, certain efforts to save the building were made by the then monumental authorities, but the First World War defeated them. The castle gradually fell into disrepair and only in 2011 the reconstruction and rescue of the castle began in the village of Jasenov in cooperation with the civic Association for the Rescue of Jasenov Castle, which is a member of the interest association Let's Save the Castles.

The castle complex is freely accessible for visitors. It is possible to get to the castle on foot from the town of Humenné (blue tourist sign) or from the village of Jasenov following the yellow sign, from where the ascent is the easiest and takes 45 minutes. Jasenov Castle is one of the first ruins in Slovakia to be repaired, at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. From the castle there are nice views, especially in the northern direction of Humenné and its surroundings.
