The wood composition of the forest unit here consists of forest beech 48%, white fir 28%, spruce 15%, pine 5%, mountain maple 2% and other woody plants 2%.
The local fir beeches are admired and appreciated by experts from all over the world, mainly thanks to the innovative approach of the mountaineer Ladislav Alcnauer, a pioneer of selective management.
The visitor will not find log cabins, clearings and large deforested areas.
Ladislav Alcnauer graduated from the Jozef Dekret Matejovie Secondary Forestry Technical School in Liptovský Hrádok.
After graduating in 1966, he joined the state forests, where he worked on forest administrations in Gelnice, Mníšek nad Hnilcom and Smolnícká osada.
A part of the nature trail is also a memorial to the forester Ladislav Alcnauer (* 1946-2016).
