The site declared a protected area is very valuable, from several points of view: from a geomorphological point of view - especially due to aesthetic rock cliffs and steep, often more than 50 m high torn rock walls; from an archeological point of view - fortified strongholds stood on both rocks centuries ago; from the botanical point of view - a rare lime-loving flora grows in the locality, you can see the golden-headed lily, the large-flowered lily or the fragrant lily of the valley; and finally from a tourist point of view. Despite the fact that there are no marked hiking trails leading to the rocks, more than one nature lover will visit them. The rocks, although not very high (their altitude only slightly exceeds 800 m), provide the climbers with beautiful views. From Tupa skala you can observe almost the whole of the lower Orava surrounded by the Mala Fatra, the Western Tatras, the Choč Hills with the majestic Veľký Choč and the Orava Magura with the famous Kubín Hill. At the top of Tupa Skala, in addition to several transmitters, there is a majestic metal double cross - the Memorial of the Slovak Cyril and Methodius Cross of Ecumenical Unity. You can get to Ostrá and Tupá skála by unmarked footpaths from Vyšný Kubín, Dolný Kubín (part of Medzihradná) or Leštín.
