Initially, they are described as smaller vineyard houses - hajlochy, later as recreational residences of the citizens of Trnava. The architecture resembled the summer residences in the spas of the then Austria-Hungary. The more wealthy people of Trnava had a rural residence in the valleys with a garden or a vineyard. Some had villas built. One of them was the villa of the Trnava owner Ľudovít Polniczký. It no longer exists today, but its presence is reminiscent of the Polniczki Cross in its place. The cross above the Vlča valley is located on the site of a wooden cross from 1901. It was named after the former owner of the property, Ľudovít Polniczk. The cross was restored by L. Kohn, who owned the property after Polniczki. In 1933, instead of a wooden cross, they built a stone cross with the Crucified, designed by the sculptor Mikuláš Machala (1903 - 1949) from Trnava, the author of the reliefs at the Bernolák Gate in Trnava.
