Parish Church of St. Alžbety Uhorskej - Kaplna

4 ratings
National cultural monument The Church of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Kaplná dates back to the middle of the 13th century. It is located on a hill in the middle of the village. Today we would describe it as a brick Romanesque-Gothic church with a western tower and a square presbytery. As one of the few of our brick buildings, it is not plastered, which corresponds to the original condition. Consecration of St. Elizabeth is appearing here for the first time in our territory and in the wider region. The nave of the church still bears Romanesque elements.
