The ensemble began its activities in November 1955 at Kopánka in Trnava with a classic staging of plays by Slovak and world playwrights. During its 60-year continuous activity, the ensemble presented 70 premieres of productions and played 1,070 performances of world and Slovak classics, as well as its own authorial work. The ensemble operates in its own studio disc, located in the building of the A. Kubán Cultural House in the Kopánka district.
