The restoration of the chapel is important in terms of preserving the "memory" of the place referring to event II. World War I and just after.

The renewal proposal was prepared by Ing. Pavel Neupauer - a living legend of the Pannonian Grove settlement - which was based on the original shape and proportions of the chapel. However, this was slightly enlarged and some details - such as the shape of the roof - were modified. The construction of the roof on the sides extends beyond the walls to protect them from rain. The roof was covered with asphalt shingles. The walls of the chapel were lined with vertical slabs and the contact gaps of the slabs were covered with cloths of triangular cross-section. Those on the flat wall create a fine plastic division. The cloth door on the front wall of the sanctuary is based on the original shape. At the bottom they are full and at the top they form a lattice through which one can see into the chapel, even when it is closed. The interior of the sanctuary of the new chapel is decorated with a preserved gable from the old chapel.

In 2014, members of the Pannonian Grove civic association began to renovate the chapel, which had been dilapidated for years due to neglect and lack of maintenance, and was already in poor technical condition. It was necessary to sensitively disassemble the individual parts of the chapel, so that as many original parts of the chapel (altar, part of the gate, facade, fittings) were preserved, then preserved and used in the renovation.

The origin of the chapel dates back to 1946. As no written sources have been preserved, it is said on the basis of oral tradition that people from the concentration / internment camp for the expulsion of the population from Czechoslovakia took part in its construction. It was mainly citizens of German and Hungarian nationality who were forced to leave the country after the end of the war. During the war, the camp served for the so-called ,, 6. Labor Battalion ”- a working unit of the Slovak Army, in which Jews and Roma, mainly involved in the construction of the Šúr Canal, were concentrated.

The chapel, built under a large oak tree, was dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Lourdes. Her statuette decorated the interior together with vases made of artillery shells. It is also mentioned that the chapel was consecrated on September 15, 1946, and there was a Holy Mass and the baptism of a little girl from the village of Pannonian Grove. No reports of its further use have been preserved. Above the chapel was placed an original bell mounted on the oak. Unfortunately, then someone stole him.

The settlement of Panónsky háj, near which the chapel is located, was established at the end of the Second World War. After the completion of the Šúr Channel, the town of Svätý Jur was considering the construction of a recreational cottage settlement. At the very end of the war, when the front line was approaching, this place was used for the planned evacuation of important offices and companies from Bratislava. At that time, several buildings were created here, some of which still stand today.

The original chapel was simple and formed the space of the sanctuary, which was closed by a cloth door. The door opened during Mass. The construction of the chapel was wooden with cardboard roofing. The ground parts have already been damaged by ground moisture and rot.
