Vermes Villa

The original building of the villa was originally a one-storey ground floor building. It was built by Ferenc Vermes landowner and supervising judge. In 1909, the then owner reconstructed it. He had the towers added and the villa acquired its present appearance.

During World War II, there was the headquarters of the German and later the Russian army. In the sixties and seventies of the 20th century, the villa was used for hobby and circle activities of children and youth. In the years 1988-2002, the branch office of the Slovak National Gallery was located here. Since 2005, the villa has been owned by the City of Dunajská Streda and after reconstruction it became the seat of the Gallery of Contemporary Hungarian Artists.
