The city park in Piešťany was originally a spa park, it was founded in 1865 by the owner of the property in Piešťany and Hlohovec Jozef Erdödy, later it was enlarged by the tenants of the Winterovci spa. In 1963 it was declared a cultural monument, its area exceeds 20 hectares. On the edge of the City Park stands the Spa Hall, the so-called Kursalón - the seat of the Balneological Museum. Together with the statues of Ludwig van Beethoven and Adam Trajan Benešovský, the park is a protected monument.
