History
The religious sect of the newly baptized, the Habans, came mainly from Austria and Germany. Most of them settled in Western Slovakia, where on the basis of special principles of social life they established the so-called fraternal courts. The largest fraternal court from the 16th century. can be found in the village Sobotište. In the monument zone, we recommend seeing the folk Habán houses, the bell tower, the town hall, the school, the bell, the mall and the mill.

The Habán museum in Sobotiště is located in the historic Habánsky dvor area, in a renovated building - the Habán mill.

The museum's exposition will introduce you to the history of the formation of the New Baptists, their activities in Moravia, southwestern Slovakia, persecution and migration to other countries of the world, up to the current life of Hutterite communities. Among the exhibits, a model of a Haban house, a cross-section of a Haban roof, replicas of original clothing, and Sobotišt faience will be of interest. The construction of the Haban mill itself is no less interesting.
